The Spectra Backflow Protector prevents Breast Milk from making its way into the Breast Pump motor. It creates a complete physical barrier between your milk and the pump motor; while protecting your milk and maintaining your breast pump performance.

If you notice milk in your backflow protector, that is normal. To clean and reassemble it, properly wash it thoroughly and air dry it. Make sure it is completely dry and free of moisture when you reassemble it.

Your backflow protectors should be changed every 3 months if pumping regularly, or whenever you notice damage to the silicone diaphragm on the inside of the backflow protector.
